Terms of Service

1. About Seripe and these Terms

Seripe is a location-based platform that helps you discover products at places near you, check real-time availability and prices, and share what you've found with the community. Seripe is designed to work across all types of products and places.

Note: We're in the process of establishing a legal entity. Once registered, we'll update this section with our company name, registration number, and registered address. Until then, "we", "us", and "Seripe" refer to the team operating the Seripe service.

By downloading the app, creating an account, or using Seripe in any way, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

These Terms apply alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your personal data.

2. Age restriction

Seripe is for users aged 18 and over.

Seripe is an adult platform. Some places and products listed may be age-restricted by law. By creating an account, you confirm you are 18 or older.

If we learn a user is under 18, we will suspend their account and delete their data without notice. If you believe a child has registered, please contact us at hello@seri.pe.

3. Your account

To use most features, you'll need an account. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your password secure and not sharing your account with anyone else
• Everything that happens under your account
• Making sure the information you give us (name, email) is accurate and kept up to date

We reserve the right to suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms.

4. User-generated content

What counts as UGC

When you post on Seripe — product sightings, prices, stock levels, atmosphere checks, photos, reviews, descriptions, or any other contribution — that content is "User-Generated Content" (UGC).

You're responsible for what you post

You are solely responsible for your UGC. By posting, you confirm that:

• Your content is accurate to the best of your knowledge
• You have the right to post it (including any photos)
• It does not infringe anyone else's intellectual property rights
• It complies with these Terms and all applicable laws

Seripe is not responsible for the accuracy of the content. Information about product availability, prices, opening hours may be out of date etc. Please consider this before making a trip.

Licence you grant us

You retain any copyright you hold in your original creative content (such as photos and written descriptions). However, by posting on Seripe, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, copy, store, display, adapt, and distribute your content as part of operating and improving the service — including in aggregated or anonymised analytics products.

Factual data you submit (prices, stock levels, opening hours, product availability) is not protectable by copyright. By submitting such data, you agree that it becomes part of the Seripe database (see Section 5).

What you must not post

You must not post content that:

• Is false, misleading, or defamatory
• Infringes anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights
• Contains personal data of others without their consent
• Promotes, glorifies, or facilitates illegal activity
• Is obscene, threatening, harassing, or hateful
• Impersonates another person or organisation
• Is spam, advertising, or unsolicited commercial content (unless you're a verified business owner updating your own listing)
• Relates to the sale or supply of illegal goods or services
• Involves minors in any inappropriate way

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these rules without notice, and to suspend or terminate accounts accordingly.

5. Intellectual property and data ownership

Seripe's platform

The Seripe app, its design, code, brand, and all content we create (as opposed to UGC) are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or redistribute any part of the platform without our written permission.

The Seripe database

Seripe operates a compiled database of place information, product sightings, and user contributions. Under UK database rights (Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as amended, and the Database Regulations 1997), we own this database as a whole.

Individual factual contributions (prices, stock levels, opening hours) are not protectable by copyright, and by submitting them you acknowledge that they form part of our database. We may use the database commercially — including by selling aggregated, de-identified analytics to business customers — as described in our Privacy Policy.

We will not sell your personal data. Aggregated analytics do not identify you individually.

Map and third-party content

Maps displayed in Seripe are provided by third-party mapping services. Their respective terms and attribution requirements apply to that content.

6. Acceptable use

You may only use Seripe for lawful purposes and in a way that does not harm other users, place owners, or the platform. You must not:

• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of Seripe's systems
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the platform without our written permission
• Use the platform to collect personal data about other users
• Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code
• Interfere with or disrupt the platform's infrastructure
• Use automated tools (bots, scripts) to interact with the platform in ways that place excessive load on our systems
• Circumvent any technical measures we use to protect the platform

7. Place owners and business listings

If you register as a place owner (claiming a listing), you take on additional responsibilities:

• Information you add or update under your business listing must be accurate
• You must not use your owner status to suppress legitimate user reviews or manipulate content unfairly
• We reserve the right to revoke owner status if it is abused

Seripe is not responsible for the accuracy of business listings. Place owners are responsible for keeping their information current.

8. Third-party links and services

The app may contain links to third-party websites or services. We don't control them and are not responsible for their content or practices. Following a link is at your own risk.

9. Disclaimers

Seripe is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties — express or implied — about:

• The accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any content on the platform (including user-submitted data)
• The availability or uninterrupted operation of the service
• Whether product availability, prices, or opening hours shown in the app are correct at the time of your visit

User-submitted content reflects the observations of individual contributors at a specific point in time. It is not a guarantee of current conditions.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Seripe
• Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the service will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) £100

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Seripe at any time if you breach these Terms, if we reasonably believe your account is being used fraudulently or harmfully, or if we discontinue the service.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@seri.pe. We will process deletion requests within one month in line with our Privacy Policy.

On termination, your licence to use the platform ends. Your UGC may remain on the platform (subject to your rights under the Privacy Policy), but our licence to use it continues.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and notify you through the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you disagree with a change, you should stop using the service and may delete your account.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless you are a consumer with the right to bring a claim in the courts of your country of residence.
